“Caring Fellowship: At Christ We Are One Church Family” is the fourth of four videos that highlight each area of the mission statement of Christ Lutheran Church.
The mission of Christ Lutheran Church is to connect people to Jesus through:
so that they might know, and grow in, His love.
This summer’s sermon series began on Sunday, June 5 and runs through September 4th. It is entitled: “The Most Dangerous Sermon Ever Preached”, and it will take a look at a different piece of Jesus’ famed “Sermon on the Mount” each week. We will discover the thoroughly radical nature of Jesus’ sermon and why it was dangerous – dangerous for Jesus to preach and dangerous for us to follow.
Our EXPRESS art camp will be Monday-Friday, July 25-29 for those just finishing 6th-9th Grade. ‘We’ll Draw Monday’, ‘Sculpt Tuesday’, ‘Paint Wednesday’, and ‘Collaborate Thursday’. On Friday, participants will finish art projects and present a Visual A.R.T.S. (Artists Recognized 4 Their Superlatives) Program. Our EXPRESS art camp will meet at the Christ’s Workshop from 9:00 am – 12 noon. Registration forms are available through the Church Office and here. Please contact Jordan at jordan AT christaustin DOT org with questions.
*For our second art camp (EXPRESS: July 25th-29th) we are collecting costume jewelry and broken toys to re-purpose into a sculpting project. Please bring donations to Jordan’s office by Sunday, July 24. Wheels, gears, faces from miniature character figures and dolls, and board game pieces are great. Thank you for your continued support.
We’d love for your family to grow with us this summer during Vacation Bible School as we take a cross-cultural tour of the country of Norway. This is an opportunity on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am from May 29 – August 28 for children age 3 – Grade 5 to experience God’s eternal love for the world. We’ll run with reindeer and be reminded that God is good! The children will experience Norway, eat Nordic food, enjoy fjord fun and games, and engage in Bible adventures, and sing songs and support a mission project. Partner with Heifer International for service learning and to help end hunger and poverty around the world. Please contact Jordan at jordan AT christaustin DOT org to get your family involved in going on this journey with Jesus to the tip top of the world.
Mark your calendars for the next Voters’ Meeting! It will be held Sunday, August 7th between early and late services in the Fellowship Hall. Make plans to attend.
We will cut the ribbon on the conference room & dedicate it for use at Christ Lutheran Church on Sunday, August 7th at 9:20 am – just prior to the Voter’s Meeting.
Mobile Loaves and Fishes provides food and clothing and promotes dignity for our brothers and sisters, and one of their programs, Genesis Gardens, cultivates community through sustainable agriculture. Only 12 volunteer spots; deadline for this family-friendly servant event is Sunday, July 31. Please contact Jordan at jordan AT christaustin DOT org for details and to sign up to serve.
The Central Texas Food Bank nourishes hungry people and leads the community in ending hunger.
