The mission statement of Christ Lutheran Church is to connect people to Jesus through:
- Inspirational Worship
- Loving Service
- Caring Fellowship
- Relevant Education
so that they may know, and grow in, his love.
A new member/information class will be offered by Pastor John in classrooms 7&8 this Saturday, November 15th, from 9 am – 12 noon. Please contact Pastor John at 512-442-5844, or jcs442 AT hotmail DOT com to register to attend this class or for more information.
In November at Kingdom Quest the children (age 3 – Grade 5) are talking about real life stories of God sightings from Zechariah and Elizabeth, and Mary and Joseph, as we prepare for the birth of Jesus according to Luke chapter 2. On Sunday, November 23, we’ll celebrate Thanksgiving, and as we prepare for the Christmas Program, we’ll do activities around Advent calendars (Nov. 30), Advent wreaths (Dec. 7), and Christmas nativity sets (Dec. 14).
The youth are meeting on Sunday mornings in Bible classes of Grades 6-7 and Grades 8-12 for a twelve month study of the Teen Edition DVD curriculum of The Story. We have began to read through a 31 chapter narrative that chronologically describes “The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People” using carefully selected portions of the New International Version of Scripture.
We hope to see you on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am at Christ for our Christian Education hour as we grow in Christ Jesus, and read His Word, pray in His name, and serve others and share His love. Please contact Jordan for more information.

Once again, for this Christmas season, we will partner with Lutheran Social Services of Austin to bring great joy to children in the Austin area who have been removed from their biological families due to abuse or neglect. If you’d like to sponsor a child and buy him or her a gift or two from their wish list, please take an ornament from the Christmas tree in the narthex – groups can even form to collectively buy a more expensive gift for a child. Please be sure to write down your name and contact information on the Angel Tree Ornament sheet and to also write down the name(s) and age(s) of child(ren) you are selecting to sponsor. Please place the gifts unwrapped in a bag or box, together with the Angel Tree Ornament name tag, set under the Christmas tree. If you’d like to help out LSS foster families, please consider signing up for the Family Gift Project and to donate a gift card, for example to HEB, Target, or Wal-Mart. The final Sunday to bring our gifts for LSSS will be Sunday, December 7. Please contact Jordan with questions.
Join us on Thursday, November 13 and December 11 following Rev. Ziehr’s Bible Study class. The group is also considering going out to a late lunch following the meeting, details TBD.
All ladies are invited to gather as a Eunice Guild on Tuesday, November 18th, at Noon in Rooms 7/8 for our program, ‘The Days of Christmas’. Please bring an item with special meaning from a Christmas past, or a special Christmas memory, to share. With Thanksgiving, we will hear God through His Word, feel God’s Love through and in fellowship, and respond with a simple service project. God has richly blessed us with this time to be together as Women of Christ!
On Saturday, November 22 from 10 am – 12 noon we will serve at Rainbow Room to prep their warehouse for holiday wishes. The Rainbow Room, one of the programs of Child Protective Services, is a 24/7 resource center located within the CPS offices at 14000 Summit Dr, 78728 where caseworkers can gather new and essential items needed for the kids in their caseload whose lives are in crisis. This is an opportunity for us to partner for the first time with Partnerships for Children in their mission of providing CPS caseworkers with the resources to better serve the kids in our community. Please contact Jordan for details and to sign up to serve.
This Christmas at Christ, our young people will present “Big Star,” a play about the constellations in the Christmas Eve night sky over the little town of Bethlehem and how each cluster of stars point to the Christ Child. Our 2014 Christmas Program will be presented during the 10:45 service on Sunday, December 21, with a reception to follow. Our young people will prepare for the songs and study the script on starting on Sunday, November 30 at 9:30 am and practice each Sunday morning through December 21. On Saturday, December 20 from 9:30-11:30 am., we will have a special rehearsal and party at Christ, and unveil the piece of artwork that will serve as the basis of our presentation this year of A Great and Mighty Wonder.
