“Relevant Education: The Bible Comes Alive Here!” is the first of four videos that will highlight each area of the mission statement of Christ Lutheran Church.

On Saturday, December 14 from 9 am – 12 noon, we will volunteer at the Austin Animal Shelter (7201 Levander Loop, 78702). The majority of the activity involves walking dogs, getting them socialized and out of their kennels. Anyone who is interested and not allergic to cats can also socialize the kitties, but cat opportunities are limited. The goal of the Austin Animal Center is to place all adoptable animals in forever homes through adoptions, foster care, rescue partner groups. Participants is this service project must be ages 15 and older. This opportunity is available for 6 to 16 people at a time and we are still looking for volunteers. Come join us on Sunday, December 15th for a spaghetti lunch and Voters Meeting after the late service. Tickets will go on sale soon. ($5/person) Proceeds will go to the CLC Youth Group. It will help pay for trips and education expenses for the youth. Contact the Church Office for more information.
Everyone is welcome to join the Eunice Guild to Barton Hills Assisted Living for a Christmas celebration on Tuesday, December 17th, beginning at 10:30 am. Gift bags will be delivered during the small Christmas celebration for the residents.
The children and youth at Christ Lutheran will present the 2013 Christmas Program, “A Color-age of the Season” on Sunday, December 22 during the 10:45 late Worship Service. We will practice for the Christmas program on Sundays from 9:30-10:30 am during December (15, and 22). On Sunday mornings for the children there will also be Advent and Christmas themed activities. There will be a rehearsal on Saturday morning, December 21.
On Wednesday, December 25, we will go Christmas caroling at Regency Village Care Center after Christmas Day Worship. Please join us at 6500 Brush Country Rd around 12:15 pm for our tradition of singing songs of the season to the residents in the dining hall. The annual Men and Boys Retreat is Friday-Saturday, January 24 & 25 at Camp Lone Star. On Friday, we’ll have a cookout and campfire. There will be a Bible Study for the men and a Bible scavenger hunt for the boys on Saturday followed by free time and group challenge course. The cost is $45 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under and includes lodging in the cabins on Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. All men and boys of Christ Lutheran are highly encouraged to consider being a part of this 24 hour get-a-way of great fellowship and faith growth and to invite friends to participate as well. To honor the men and women of Christ Lutheran who have served in the armed service of the United States of America, we put together a tribute video of our veterans at Christ telling their stories about how God has worked in their lives through their service to our country.
