Pastor Rev. John C. Stennfeld
“Caring Fellowship: At Christ We Are One Church Family” is the fourth of four videos that highlight each area of the mission statement of Christ Lutheran Church.
The mission of Christ Lutheran Church is to connect people to Jesus through:
so that they might know, and grow in, His love.
Please submit a favorite photo of you and your Mom, or a favorite photo of you and your child (if you are a Mom) to Jordan by Sunday, May 1st, if you would like it to be included in our Mother’s Day videos. Photos can be submitted in hard copy form, or emailed (preferable) if you are able. Photos can be retrieved in the office the following week. Your participation in this project will make it a success.
Our final Men’s Discipleship Class for the spring is the first Tuesday in May, the 3rd, at 7:30 pm. Join us for some food and fellowship around the table as we talk about the topic of “How God Makes Men.” We’ll review what we have learned from the lives of the ten mighty men of antiquity we’ve studied since September 2015, and reflect on what their stories and suffering have to say to our lives today.
On Thursday, May 5th, R&R will meet at Christ Lutheran at 1 pm to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Put on your sombrero and dress in your Cinco de Mayo clothes and join us for fellowship and fun playing Mexican Dominos. See the Church Office for more information.
Mobile Loaves and Fishes provides food and clothing and promotes dignity for our brothers and sisters, and one of their programs, Genesis Gardens, cultivates community through sustainable agriculture. We’ll return to the gardens (9301 Hog Eye Road, 78724) on Saturday, May 14 from 9 am – 12 noon and build just a little more of this beautiful, creative, and edible food forest. Only 10 volunteer spots; deadline for this family-friendly servant event is Sunday, May 1. Please contact Jordan for details and to sign up to serve.
We’d love for your family to grow with us this summer during Vacation Bible School as we take a cross-cultural tour of the country of Norway. This is an opportunity on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am from June through August for children age 3 – Grade 5 to experience God’s eternal love for the world through crafts, drama, games, mission, music, and snacks. Partner with Heifer International for service learning and to help end hunger and poverty around the world.
