“Inspirational Worship: Welcome to the Heart of Christ in the City” is the third of four videos that will highlight each area of the mission statement of Christ Lutheran Church.
The mission statement of Christ Lutheran Church is to connect people to Jesus through:
- Inspirational Worship
- Loving Service
- Caring Fellowship
- Relevant Education
so that they may know, and grow in, his love.

In September, the people of Christ shared the love of Christ with residents in the 78741 zip code by donating 925 pounds of food to the Bread for All Food Drive sponsored by Thrivent Arbors Community. As we enter the holiday season, there are two ways that we can continue to contribute toward the efforts of the Bread for All Food Pantry that meets on Monday evenings at The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (1711 East Oltorf St.).
1) Bring non-perishable (and not expired) food items to the red food barrel in the narthex on Sundays.
2) Be available to help on a Monday to pick up and unload food with Bread for All Food Pantry, to set up the serving line, to be a translator, and to distribute items. Sign up by clicking on the links below. To find out more information about volunteering, please talk with Jordan.
Volunteer to help with Mobile Loaves & Fishes’ Genesis Gardens program. With the help of the homeless of our community, they have constructed a Mini-Farm in the heart of the Community First! Village (9301 Hog Eye Road, Austin, TX, 78724). They have 120 fruit trees, 40 chickens, 12 community garden beds, and over 4000 square feet of organic vegetable production. On Saturday, October 25, from 8:30-11:30 am, we’ll return to Genesis Garden to build just a little more of this beautiful, creative, and edible food forest.
All are welcome; no experience is needed. Join us on Thursdays, October 9 and 23 following Rev. Ziehr’s Bible study class. All types of materials and trims can be reused for our quilting. The group is also considering going out to a late lunch following the meeting, details TBD. Please call the Church Office with questions.
