Virtual Easter Egg Hunt– Stay tuned for details regarding an interactive social media initiative (via Facebook) in the works for children/families (this particular year in lieu of our usual activities) to learn about, and engage with, the story of Jesus, and to grow in Christ, as we ponder how God loves us dearly, and prepare for the events of Holy Week and Easter.

Men’s Discipleship Study

We will continue a study for 2019-2020 led by Tim Ristow and based on the book “Navigate Your Faith: A Christian’s Field Guide to Not Getting Lost” (by Ron Pratt) on Tuesday, April 7, at 7:30 P.M via Zoom (an online meeting application that allows people to connect online and interact with one another remotely). Basically, it will require you to have ONE of the following: a smart phone of some sort; OR iPad; OR a PC or Mac (laptop or desktop) (with a connected camera and microphone (typically built-in to newer models). Please contact Tim, or Jordan, for information on how to utilize, and meet, via this application for our upcoming session.

Supporting Our Ministry

While the world is seemingly ‘shutting down’, the church of God continues to stand, and serve, as it always will.  Remember, Jesus himself said that the very gates of hell could not and would not prevail against his church.  Thus while much of the present activity around Christ Lutheran Church is curbed and halted, the future of our congregation presses on… thus we are still going to be installing a new sound system in our sanctuary facility, we are still going to be getting a new roof on the flat portion of our office and classroom facility, and ministry will still be conducted among our members and beyond. And so, whether worshiping our Lord from the comfort of your own home, or worshiping in our beautiful sanctuary of Christ Lutheran Church, your offerings are still needed to provide for our present and future ministry.  And as always, remember that our financial stewardship to God is done in response to His blessings given to us.  We give to Him because He gives to us.  We encourage those of you worshiping from home to visit our website to give your monthly/weekly gifts through our online portal, https://www.christaustin.org/give-plus-online-vanco/,  or feel free to mail in your offering envelopes to the church office, 300 East Monroe Street, Austin, TX, 78704.  Jordan and  I are here working daily and are receiving the mail as it comes in.

May we continue to respond to our Lord’s goodness, and to support the ministry that our Lord has entrusted to us (and of which we are a part), as we wait and hope for brighter days to come.

In Christ’s love,

pastor john
