Fellowship committee will provide coffee and juice and paper products.

Rally Day – We will be hosting a Rally Day Picnic September 26th after worship service. The meal will consist of hamburgers, sausage wraps, potato salad, coleslaw, chips and assorted desserts. (Please bring a dessert to share.) Tickets are $3/each. If you would like to volunteer to help with meal prep, setup, and cleanup or have questions, please contact David and Kim Schaare. at [email protected] Thank you.

Pumpkin Patch – We will be having an unloading fellowship event on Friday, afternoon/evening, October 15, and forming a pumpkin brigade to unload around 500 bulk pumpkins. Sign-ups have begun to serve in various ways, including advertising and decorating the patch, helping with the unloading fellowship event, and staffing the shifts across 16 days of operation. Our pumpkin patch will take place from Saturday, October 16th thru October 31st (or until we sell out of pumpkins).

To sign up to help, please go to https://www.christaustin.org/soco-pumpkin-patch/ (for a link to a “Sign Up Genius” online sign up form), or talk with Jordan to find out which shifts are available and to be added to those you are able to volunteer for. All church proceeds from this year’s pumpkin patch will benefit the wonderful non-profit organization, Water to Thrive, which builds wells and helps to bring clean water to those living in rural parts of Africa. Please contact Jordan, or Deborah Bynum, regarding this year’s pumpkin patch.

Lutheran Witness Magazine – It is that time of year again, time to place our order for the 2022 Lutheran Witness magazines. The cost for the subscription to this monthly magazine is $14.25 for the 2022 calendar year. If you would like to receive a subscription for the coming year please submit a check to the church office by October 7th, made payable to “Christ Lutheran Church”, with the words “Lutheran Witness” in the note section of the check. If you have any questions please contact the church office for further information.

Marbridge – We have the opportunity to write cards of encouragement and to design crafts for the residents of Marbridge to enjoy amid the pandemic. You can provide your own stationary or pick up supplies provided by the church for an “at home” service project. We will be collecting these cards and crafts in the narthex thru Sunday, October 10, to then deliver/send to Marbridge. Please contact Jordan with any questions.

Financial Stewardship at Christ

Weekly/monthly offerings at Christ may be placed in the offering plates located by the sanctuary entrance doors, mailed in via U.S.P.S., or given through the online portal (“Online Giving”) accessed through our website at www.Christaustin.org. Thank you for your continued stewardship of God’s blessings and for your support of our ministry here at Christ.

Online Giving

A word of thanks to all of you for your continued support of our ministry here at Christ Lutheran Church, and a special note of thanks to all of you who have chosen to give online through our website with the Vanco portal.  In a time of less volunteerism due to Covid-19 and such, the online giving is less cumbersome and more streamlined for our Financial Secretary to manage.  That being said, we would ask those of you giving through this online way to consider giving through your bank accounts (savings or checking) as opposed to using a credit/debit card.  We are charged a 2.75% transaction fee whenever a credit/debit card is used, and while that may not seem like a lot for a $25 offering ($0.69 fee), for a $500 offering ($13.75 fee) those fees become quite significant.  Again, we are grateful for any and all offerings and gifts to Christ Lutheran, but in order to be the best stewards of what God has entrusted to us we do kindly ask all of you credit/debit card givers to consider using one of your bank accounts instead.  Thank you.
