"The People of Christ Sharing the Love of Christ"

Music

Christ Lutheran Church offers a variety of musical opportunities for members as well as non-members:

Adult Choir: Anyone of high school age and older is invited to participate. Absolutely no musical experience is required and no audition is necessary. The choir rehearses each Wednesday evening during the school year from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, and participates on a rotating basis in both the 8:15 and 10:45 services. Contact Susan Glover for more information.

Handbell Ensemble: Both adults and children age 7 and older are invited to participate. Absolutely no musical experience is required and no audition is necessary. The handbell choir rehearses on a rotating basis on Sunday mornings during the school year from 9:00 to 9:30 am, and participates in the worship services approximately two times a month.

Wind Ensemble: Individuals with a least two years of formal study on a brass or woodwind instrument are invited to participate. The wind ensemble participates in festival worship services such as Christmas and Easter. Due to instrumentation concerns, interested individuals should contact Mark Herber to obtain music and a rehearsal schedule.

Children's Choir: Any child age three through 8th grade is invited to participate. The children participate in "music time" at the beginning of the Sunday School hour each Sunday morning (9:30-9:45). They participate in the worship services approximately four times each year. Contact Barbara Craig for more information.

H.I.S. Band: The H.I.S. Band (Hearts in Spirit) is an integral part of the 10:45 blended service. H.I.S. band normally plays about 6 songs during the service, with the remainder led by either the organ or piano. The best description of the style is "country gospel." The band has around 250 songs in its repoitoir. H.I.S. band is led by Fred Frieling, also known as Jess DeMaine (see Music Staff below). H.I.S. Band includes the following: Fred Frieling--keyboard, vocals; Phil Etter--vocals; Laura Hansen--fiddle; Gary Lippe--accordian; Bill Martin--bass guitar; Tommy Nanyes--banjo, mandolin, guitar; Craig Norman--guitar.
