Christ Lutheran Church has joined with SoCo Ministries (Life in the City formerly Grace United Methodist Church and The Church on Congress Avenue formerly Congress Avenue Baptist Church) to provide sack lunches for the homeless of our community Monday-Friday. Members donate, sack, and distribute single serve non perishable food items on Thursday mornings. Donations and volunteers from the community are welcome as we seek to serve the needy from our city. When are the lunches served?
Those in need can receive a sack lunch at Christ Lutheran Church on Thursdays between the hours of 9 am – 12 noon.
Who can receive a lunch?
Whoever has the need.
Are there other ways that you help the homeless?
Yes. During the colder months we also collect and distribute hats, gloves, coats, blankets and socks. We also put together hygiene kits as donations and items are available.
How can I participate in the program?
You can either donate items or money, or you can be a part of the distribution process and get to know our homeless friends by name.
